Third Grade Week 9 Again

I have decided to go back to week 9 again in the title so that it reflects what week we are actually at in the school year.  I guess technically the first week of school was actually week 0.5 instead of a full week.

This week was extremely busy for sure.  We had the pumpkin patch, the AR party, fire prevention week and the book fair.  I saw and felt a lot of excitement.  I took many pictures from the pumpkin patch that I posted in the weekly vlog, and if there is a picture that you would like the file to, just let me know which picture and I will send it to you.  At the very bottom of this page I have posted collages with all the pics I took that turned out right.

This week, I have decided to forgo the spelling test.  I just can't see how we can fit it in this week.  Wednesday being a shortened day and all.  We were so busy on Friday with the AR part and the Pumpkin Patch field trip, that we ran out of time to collect the homework and pass out the new stuff.  I told students that those who are doing IXL can keep doing two for this week and for those who aren't they can just grab their math homework on Monday.  I will also pass out the new reading logs on Monday and let the kids know that they would still need to read last Friday and then Monday through Wednesday this week.

On Monday the 14th of October we will be taking the kids to the BYU Dancers performance at the HS auditorium.  This is a fantastic group.  If your student hasn't turned in a permission slip, I need that before we go.  We will be leaving at 12:30 PM.  If you don't want them to attend that is OK too.  There are other classes that are not going to go and my students will just join one of those classes.  If the permission slip has gotten lost, please just send a note with your students saying something to the effect, that they have permission to attend the BYU dancers at the High School.

We are now starting the new quarter and grade are reset to 100%.  Let's keep working them and helping them prepare for 4th grade.  My goal is that every student will be 4th grade ready by the time they leave my classroom.  Thanks for all you do.
