3rd Grade Week 12

Well Halloween is over, hopefully the sugar rush is over as well.  We had a lot of fun this week.  Below is the vlog and images from the week.

This week we will be working with estimating volume and mass.  You can see resources that are being used under the subjects area of the website.

In reading we are working on Spelling list 8B.  I know that we have already done list 10, but I ended up skipping the 8B and realized that I did need to use those words.  We will also not be giving spelling pretests anymore.  This decision is coming from a reading class we are taking where we are trying to teach our students how to spell and not just memorize the words.  I am actually a huge fan of lifelong knowledge versus the input output method such as memorizing is.  We will still be giving spelling tests on Friday or Thursday, depending on how things are going.

In writing we will be working working on our research project about the presidents.  I would love to have any volunteers available who can come in on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from about 12:15 to about 12:45. 

Don't forget that any homework was due on Friday, but if they forgot they can bring it in on Monday.
